Objectives: This study was designed to investigate the prevalence of metabolic syndrome in patients diagnosed with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) referring gastrointestinal and endocrinology clinics Golestan Imam Khomeini Hospitals, Ahvaz. Methods: The current cross-sectional performed on NAFLD gastroenterology Emam hospitals, Ahvaz second half 2020. Demographic information included age, gender, lumbar posture (while standing waist be upper edge iliac crest at end a normal exhalation using non-elastic meter), grading evidenced by ultrasound, blood pressure laboratory parameters, including triglyceride (TG), fasting sugar (FBS), high-density lipoprotein (HDL) recorded checklist. Data analysis SPSS 26.0 software. Results: 130 an average age 46.22 ± 14.27 years. Patients comprised 42 men (32.8%) 88 women (67.2/%). Introduction: Identification of the factors related to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in children and adolescents help us to know appropriate methods for prevention and control of chronic diseases. Methods: This cross-sectional and analytic study comprised 962 children and adolescents, aged 6-18 years, in Isfahan in 2008. Variables related to life style and metabolic syndromes related...
متن کاملCorrelation of visfatin level with non-alcoholic fatty liver in metabolic syndrome
Background: Metabolic syndrome (MS) and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a common public health problem. Visfatin is secreted by visceral adipose tissue and is an adipocytokine. It could be a pro-inflammatory adipocytokine and is related to the metabolic syndrome and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. This study evaluated the association between visfatin levels in patients w...
متن کاملiron status and metabolic syndrome in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
background: a hypothesis has been presented about the role of serum iron, ferritin and transferrin saturation among patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (nafld) and resistance to insulin (metabolic syndrome [mets]), but there is much controversy. this study aimed at investigating the level of serum iron and demographic characteristics in patients with nafld with or without mets. meth...
متن کاملthe prevalence of metabolic syndrome in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease; a population-based study
background: some evidence, not in large study populations, suggests that nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (nafld) and metabolic syndrome (mets) share common interactions. we aimed to determine the prevalence of nafld and mets in a large population registered to kavar cohort study center. we also assessed the role of each component of mets in nafld existence. methods: data were obtained from 341...

Manuscript received and accepted: 26 September 2008 Abstract The development of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is strongly associated with the metabolic syndrome as reflected by the fact that approximately 90% of the patients with NAFLD have more than one feature of metabolic syndrome and about 33% have three or more criteria. The physiopathology, epidemiology and therapeutic consider...
